If you like to walk or run or row or bicycle to music, you probably also like to listen to songs that match the pace you're going. But how can you find songs with the right beat?
Here's the book you need:
The Bpm List: A Music Reference Guide For Mobile Djs

And you can even peek inside to find out the information.
So, how does this work? Well, suppose you know one song that does have the right beat, like "What I Like about You" by The Romantics. You go to the book and look up this song. Turns out that it's 160 bpm (beats per minute). Now you look up "160" in the book and find a bunch of other songs that are the same beat, like "Whip It" by Devo and "Touch of Grey" by Grateful Dead. Nearby songs are "Middle" (162) by Jimmy Eat World and "I'm a Believer" (165) by Smash Mouth.
Make up a playlist with a bunch of these songs and see how they work out. Maybe you'll find they're a little too fast or a little too slow. No problem. Just go back to the list and try some with faster or slower beats per minute. Pretty soon you'll have a playlist that energizes you while you're exercising!
